Hello Abbotsford

We are inviting you to take part in Abbotsford Family Literacy Day at Clearbrook Library and The Reach Gallery Museum by visiting Community Literacy Stations at both locations to enjoy free crafts, treats and prizes. There will be activities for all ages—kids, teens and adults!

Kick off the morning with a free pancake breakfast sponsored by United Way from 9 AM - 11 AM. Breakfast takes place at UFV Clearbrook Centre (directly downstairs from Clearbrook Library). Then at Clearbrook Library, enjoy a fun magic show by Norden the Magician at 11:15 AM. Later, join in for a dynamic storytelling of Under One Rock: Bugs, Slugs, and Other Ughs by Anthony D. Fredericks. The story will be displayed from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM. Wander at your own pace through a great story about ecological life “under one rock.” At 1:00 PM, listen to narrators from the Abbotsford Children’s Theatre bring the story to life in a dramatic and engaging way.

At The Reach Gallery Museum, participate in hands-on activities exploring the many intersections between literacy, art, history, and culture. Join in for a special painting and literacy activity, take a family tour of the archives, seek out artefacts in a scavenger hunt, make a block print on a special printing press, and more!

Take part in family fun activities at both ARC and MRC between December 22, 2023 - January 5, 2024. Activities include daily camps, swimming, skating and drop-in gym activities throughout the holidays! View the WinterFest Flyer.

On Friday, October 27th Abbotsford Early Years team will meet you and your children at Mill Lake Park (Beven Entrance - Picknick Shelter) for our 2nd Pumpkin Patch Adventure. Last year, we had the pleasure of collaborating with Willow View Farm for a successful pumpkin patch event in Mill Lake Park. This Year given the positive impact and enjoyment it brought to the families in our community, we are continuing and expanding this tradition to include both Mill Lake (Friday, October 27th) and Grant Parks (Saturday, October 28th). Nature Thursday is an Outdoor StrongStart session where we invite you to build your friendship with nature by exploring the many gifts and riches found in multiple parks around Abbotsford. Together we will discover different habitats and use all our senses when enjoying nature as we walk and play in the park. Check the flyer below for different locations and hours.
